I have been reviewing some of my past research as we prepare for yet another battle against the imposition of a massive wind and solar “energy park” in breathtakingly beautiful rural Radnorshire.
Not many know but the wind turbines have very expensive gears because the forces they encounter. The gears eventually wear out then it requires removing the Head and shipping it to a specially repair facility. Suffice to say this process is very expensive. So it you wind lower blades not spinning for quite some time you now know why: the gears are trashed.
Thank you for mentioning this Dan. In relation to this, there was information published a couple of years ago that the lubricating oil used to help maintain these gears, the gearbox, is highly toxic. I haven't been able to find it as yet. What's interesting is that in looking for that information, I couldn't help but notice that, not surprisingly, all of the big oil companies like Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron and others are suppliers of the lubricant. I doubt the green washed ones are aware of this. They are too caught up in their religion.
