Thank you Frances for your kind comment and for sharing this on GETTR. These things are a massive scam, quite possibly a ponzi and/or money laundering scheme for dodgy developers and investors. An American Twitter friend sent me the information they had collected which provided proof of this in the U.S. Although my gut has long told me that it's there lurking in the shadows, I haven't yet been able to find anything concrete about the financial scam of industrial wind installations in the UK.
Thank you so much for these links Francis. I have the 2011 This is Money article in my research notes but I hadn't seen the analysis from the Common Wealth think tank which Yahoo Finance reported on, likely because it relates to offshore. It's still very helpful.
The developers of the one we are in battle against here in the Radnor Forest, Bute Energy, who promote themselves as a Welsh company in Wales, have been working in partnership with the Danes, officially since February 2022.
"Bute Energy (Bute) and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), on behalf of its fund Copenhagen Infrastructure IV K/S (CI IV), are pleased to announce a partnership which will see CI IV invest in Bute’s portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects, some with co-located battery energy storage systems, under development in Wales." https://archive.ph/ygGqM
