The loss of water as Native Americans continue to experience most recently at Standing Rock reverberates for centuries with successive catastrophes in the loss of land and then food, bottomlands and salmon stocks through damming, and increasing dispossession from the loss of subsistence without any cobenefits in access to power, irrigation, or hygiene.
What do the settlers think this stuff is doing for their global reputation?
I boycott Israel any chance I get. So many seem like a bunch of thugs who just want to destroy land and property that doesn't belong to them, and to kill people.
What do they think the future holds for them, I wonder.
Hi Diana, thank you for your comment and all of your wonderful writing.
In my opinion, it appears that since the settlers are allegedly the chosen ones who "own" everything, they apparently have complete impunity and can destroy, maim and murder whatever and whomever they chose whenever they feel like it. From my experience this is how people without a conscience, narcissists and/or those who are deeply disturbed behave.
I find the entire situation deeply disturbing. At the same time it feels like these seeming self-righteous violent thugs and the entire situation may well spin out of control.
When the proverbial finally hits the fan this will hopefully clear out the detritus and provide much needed space for new beginnings in the West Bank, in Gaza, in Palestine.
I pray for the day when there is finally peace for Palestine, peace for Palestinians, peace for the entire cradle of civilisation and this world. π

Thanks for this series, Azra.

I do too, Azra.
I agree -- they seem to feel entitled and be without a conscience.
What will it take to bring about peace, I wonder.
