Shameless military cooperation which appears to go both ways. Are Brits training Israelis or are Israelis training Brits? Some tactics employed by Brit cops in recent years would suggest that we are all treated as Palestinians now.
Hi Frances, I certainly agree with you and find the ongoing military co-operation between the UK and US with Israel quite disturbing.
In the previous decade (approx. 2014 - 2018) I recall doing research with a couple of other people for UK Column in which we found quite a bit of information about Israeli training programmes which members of several UK police services attended. There was also similar information about Israeli training programmes for police departments in the US. Most unfortunately that research was in the old members' former which has disappeared into the void.
When I did a search for information about this just now I found one long refusal in reply to an FOI requesting such information by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) on the basis of "national security" etc. At the end of the reply, "Training exchanged between the MPS and Israel Police" the MPS provided a partial answer to one question as follows:
"As much as there is a public interest in knowing that policing activity is appropriate and balanced this will only be overridden in exceptional circumstances. The areas of police interest discussed above for this case are sensitive issues and therefore it is our opinion that for these issues confirmation or denial that any other information is held, at this time, is not made out.
"This should not be taken as necessarily indicating that any other information that would meet your request exists or does not exist.
"Disclosure

I had asked UKC last year about access to the archived forum when I was checking on some information which I know I had researched previously, but didn't receive a reply. I am going to ask them again in a more specific request.
It's all so sordid. I don't know how many UK people know of arrest warrants or our government involvement either. Those who follow Yaxley would be cheering now.
It most certainly is sordid. There has long been a cozy relation between the UK and Israel, including police training which I do not feel comfortable with at all. Please see my reply to Frances in this regard above.
