Ukrainian Armed Forces kill civilians and journalist using (banned) 155 mm cluster munitions in Donesk which Western press had assured France had not supplied to Ukraine
I feel absolutely sick about what the people of all ages in the Donbass have been experiencing, enduring for more than 8 years now. What follows is a compilation of information from the last few days, including tweets by Eva Bartlett who has been on the ground again in Donetsk.
I begin with this report by Donbass Insider which Eva shared on her Telegram channel.
On 17 September 2022, the Ukrainian army shelled the centre of Donetsk, DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) with Caesar self-propelled guns and French 155mm TRF1 guns, killing four civilians and wounding eight others.
It was at lunchtime that the Ukrainian army decided to shell the heart of Donetsk, Lenin Square, which was teeming with cars at that time, with French 155mm guns. A first shell hit Artioma Street, right next to a Gazelle van, which caught fire, burning the driver alive.

Other shells hit the Post building, as well as the Voroshilovsky district administration building, the Oplot TV studios, and the monument to Pushkin, the Russian author, located behind the theatre, a few meters from Lenin Square. There, three civilians were killed, including a woman who was walking right next to a children’s park that is usually crowded when the weather is nice like today. The initial toll of three injured civilians was eventually raised to eight, including a TeleSur journalist.
And the toll on journalists could have been much worse. As they arrived on the scene quickly after the bombing, War Gonzo journalists witnessed the second strike live, which again targeted Lenin Square, hitting the already burning van a second time. Fortunately their car was behind another vehicle and they were able to get out safely.
But this second strike, shortly after the first, shows that Ukraine continues to carry out terrorist bombings, the aim of which is to kill or maim as many rescue workers and journalists as possible when they arrive in an already bombed area.
The information available immediately after this terrorist bombing by the Ukrainian army against the centre of Donetsk, indicated that the 155 mm shells were fired by French Caesar self-propelled guns, which France sold to Ukraine.

But after submitting the photos of the shrapnel I found on the spot to Adrien Bocquet, who is now a NATO weapons expert for the DPR’s representation in the JCCC (Joint Monitoring and Co-ordination Centre on Ukraine’s War Crimes), he confirmed that they were American 155mm shells, some fired from Caesar guns and others from TRF1 guns.
The famous TRF1 guns that can fire (banned) 155 mm cluster munitions, which I had mentioned in June, and which the Western press had assured that France had not supplied to Ukraine! Before learning at the beginning of September that Paris had indeed sold them to Kiev!
And given that for eight years, France claimed not to have supplied arms to Ukraine before Gabriel Attal’s “blunder”, who publicly admitted that Paris had been supplying arms to Kiev since 2014, there is no doubt that the French TRF1 guns that were used today to kill four civilians, and maim eight in the centre of Donetsk, were supplied to Ukraine well before September.

Then you get egregious propaganda like this pushed out by ITV on the 18th of September as an attempt at damage control for Ukraine’s ongoing war crimes.
And this by a Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko. This is the same woman who was interviewed by CNN’s Christiane Amanpour at the end of March 2022.
Vasylenko wanted to meet at Maidan Square, where pro-European Ukrainian activists stood up for their rights in 2014 and forced pro-Russia president Viktor Yanukovych to flee the country.
There is also this this footage of the aftermath of the UAF shelling with a comment that attributes the atrocities to the Russians which was tweeted as a reply to Eva.
