"The Cambridge Dictionary pretends that a woman is a man." by Laura Dodsworth
"We're going through the looking glass when dictionaries make up meanings."
Just another day in dystopia.
The Cambridge Dictionary pretends that a woman is a man.
We're going through the looking glass when dictionaries make up meanings.

The Cambridge Dictionary is pretending that the meaning of the word ‘woman’ has changed. This isn’t just nonsense, it is a dangerous move for language, thought and power.
The primary meaning is still ‘an adult female human being’ but the second meaning is now ‘an adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth’.
If ‘woman’ means male and female it means nothing. It certainly does not mean woman. And the term ‘may have been said to have a different sex at birth’ is equally nonsensical. There is no ‘may’ or ‘said’ about it. If a man identifies as a woman, it is because he was born a man and still is a man. There is a difference between being a woman and being a trans woman.
You’d hope some bright egg heads are working on the Cambridge Dictionary, but it turns out to be written by Humpty Dumpty, who believes words can mean anything he wants.
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'
'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'
The words that are being changed say a lot about who is ‘master’. Words are being taken away from women. Chest feeding not breastfeeding. Uterus owner not woman. Cis woman not woman. And women’s hard-won sex-based spaces and rights are threatened as part of this movement, such as refuges, sports, changing rooms, dignity and safety in prison.
In Orwell’s 1984, language is manipulated as a weapon of mind control. It is an abuse of power. Orwell believed that totalitarianism and corruption of language were intrinsically linked. In 1984 the Party wants to make thought crime impossible because there will be no words left to express it.
In that book, there is a term ‘blackwhite’ which means claiming that black is white, a poor argument, but it also means loyalty to the Party, the ideal trait. It’s confusing and nonsensical, which is the point. Just like Humpty Dumpty, the aim is to be master. The ‘Alice in Wonderland’ effect (yes, that’s a real term) is designed to confuse people and make them susceptible to propaganda and brainwashing.
Language structures thoughts. If you can control language you can control thought. Many books have warned us about the dangers of turning language upside down. Now, one of our eminent dictionaries has gone through the looking glass.
Changing the definition of a word to describe biological sex is dangerous. The identity politics activists who want to change the meaning of the word want to remove the idea of a woman from your mind.
Stand by your woman. And stand by your word.
Enough with this fabricated male cow defecation.
