Emergencies Act Vote in Canada
Last evening, Monday 21st February, the vote in the Canadian Parliament on extending Justin Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergencies Act was held.
According to Global News reporter David Akin, Justin Trudeau had stated that the presence of approximately 125 vehicles on a farm 100km from Ottawa justified the continued use of the Emergencies Act Measures.

Since Trudeau declared the motion for extension of the Emergencies Act to be a vote of confidence, this meant that if the government lost, a new election would be declared.
MP Melissa Lantsman received a reprehensible response from Justin Trudeau during the Emergencies Act debate in Parliament last week.
“Conservative members can stand with people who wave swastikas" was Trudeau’s response to Ms. Lantsman, a Jewish Conservative Party MP who was criticising his unnecessary, over the top invoking of the Emergencies Act formerly known as the War Measures Act.
This is the best video footage and discussion I have found of the incident with Laura Ingram interviewing Melissa Lantsman. Contrast Trudeau’s truly nasty retorts with how Ms. Lantsman dealt with the situation.
Ms. Lantsman’s colleague, MP Dane Lloyd expressed his disgust with Trudeau’s appalling behaviour. in this tweet

Prior to the vote in the Canadian Parliament last night on whether or not to approve Justin Trudeau’s motion to extend his invocation of the Emergencies Act, it was noted that the party whips were in action behind the scenes.
As a member of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) Ms. Lantsman held her ground and voted with her conscience. Sadly, other MPs did not.

You can watch the voting from last night below with commentary by Garnett Genuis, the Conservative MP for Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta who was voting remotely. He states in part that given the facts on the ground with the blockades gone, even if one were to accept that it was legitimate for Trudeau to invoke the Emergencies Act in the first place, the critical question is whether a “state of emergency” is warranted to continue to be in place.
Members of the Conservative Party dispute this, especially since these appear to be preemptive measures, “just in case” protestors return to Ottawa in particular. Mr. Genuis says that this is quite a radical idea.
Although not wholly unexpected, it is very disturbing that, Democracy Dies In Canada - House Of Commons Vote as Premier Brian Peckford stated in his post with the final results.
Supporting the Emergency Motion 185
Opposing the Emergency Motion 151
Is Justin Trudeau capable of hindsight?
“In a democracy”?!? Apparently not. Please watch:

Did you notice the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland nodding her head as Trudeau spoke like one of those dogs people put on the dashboard or rear window of their cars?
This is from last week but well worth repeating as a snapshot of the voracious nature of these people lusting to enforce draconian diktats as Freeland talks about the financial and other instruments being used to punish the God fearing, peaceful protestors.
“We will be putting forward measures to put those tools permanently in place.” – Chrystia Freeland said.

How many people who innocently donated to support the truckers and their families will be subject to Freeland et al’s totalitarian “tools”?

Please note the RCMP statement issued yesterday on the freezing of assets.
In my opinion, not any one person nor political party will be the saviour of Canadians. At least Candace Bergen, the Leader of the Conservative Party filed a motion to revoke the Emergency Measures immediately following the parliamentary vote last night. She stated that the motion will be brought when Parliament is back in session at the House of Commons, Monday the 28th of February. At this time the debate to revoke the Emergencies Act Measures will commence.

In the following piece, Terry Burton has expressed so well how many Canadians must feel about the disturbing changes they have observed in recent years. This includes myself, an expat living in Wales.
My Country, My Country, Why Has Thou Forsaken Me?
By Terry Burton • February 21, 2022 • Brian Peckford blog
I’m curious, are you, like I am, travelling a road of incredulity at the reaction of some very astute and intellectual Canadians . Today, I watched an hour plus discussion between two Canadian intellectuals, they were both clearly exasperated and seemed befuddled, justifiably so, at the audacity of Trudeau’s actions regarding the overreach of the Emergency Declaration.
I found the frustration and sincere emotional outpouring of both to be indicative of why our Country has, for all intents and purposes, sunk into the abyss of anti-democratic, autocratic and totalitarian rule. Make no mistake, I have great respect and admiration for both these wise Canadians but find it rather astonishing that these intellectual giants, of their respective professions, didn’t foresee this ongoing erosion of Canada’s Democracy.
The first one (1) of these two (2) Canadians spent most of their life in the arena of academia, a place where Wokeism is now taught and worshiped and where everything is, apparently, rooted in alleged White Privilege and Racism. Academia is now, unfortunately, a place where free speech, critical thinking, independence of thought and intellectual growth are regularly and enthusiastically sacrificed upon the altars of indoctrination and propaganda.
The second Canadian has spent most of their life in the arena of journalism, a place where, theoretically, by its sworn beliefs, values, ethics, morals and principles (BVEMPs)—truth is always spoken to power.
This most astute journalist was employed for many years, by one of those bastions of all things propaganda, that is, the CBC. I have no doubt that they, sadly, knew intimately, or ought to have known, what tremendous damage the media was and is doing to Canada , thus its peoples.
We now know, without the slightest doubt, that truth cannot and will not be spoken, by the MSM Press, to Canada’s political elites, especially the PM, Cabinet and the PMO. It’s known by even a five (5) year old that it’s unwise to bite the hand that feeds you and the Federal government, for decades, has been feeding hundreds of millions of dollars, annually, to Canada’s Mainstream Media.
Our academician must have observed for decades the putrid mess and downward slide taking place in the now aptly named “Institutions of Lower Learning”. We have been talking and highlighting, for decades, the mess our “entire” Education System is fostering and creating in our Country . An astute journalist cannot have been so enamoured with one’s work, nor so isolated from the daily reality in one’s Country , to miss this obvious and corrosive impact of these “educational” institutions on our Country.
I cannot, even when digging deeply, find a rational nor justified basis to validate that people of such obvious intelligence, like these two (2) learned Canadians , didn’t observe this malignant cancer gnawing away at our Country’s democratic foundations.
Consequently, I’m faced with a dilemma regarding the “recent” exasperation, befuddlement and frustration of these two (2) Canadians. The warning signals of grave danger, inside and outside our Country , have been increasing in candle power and intensity for all to see. Sadly, but certainly not surprisingly, two (2) of the major culprits are the very institutions in which these two (2) folks plied their trade(s).
The observation being, too many “critical thinking Canadians ” appear to have been asleep at the wheel whilst a Cabal of miscreants broke into and took over the halls of Canada’s political power. These miscreants, make no mistake, were intentionally and with malice aided and abetted, especially, by the media, academia and corporate interests. The question that needs and begs tremendous in-depth focus and analysis is, “to which military pillbox did Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition retreat and hide during this relatively silent but obvious coup d’état?”
On top of all these aforementioned challenges, Canada is faced with the ongoing detrimental impacts of an increase in deficient parenting, a phenomenal decrease in the positive influence of religion, a lack of education and expectations regarding one’s essential commitment to civic responsibilities, and, a general refusal of the population and institutions to vehemently defend the Constitution, especially the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
One might ask, “Is this not an ideal confluence of factors that provides a totalitarian minded politician the golden opportunity to enhance their power. The Covid-19 “pandemic” provided the trigger that Trudeau and the PMO needed; they wasted no time in executing Democracy with the guillotine and excuse of medical expediency.
I take no pleasure nor find solstice in seeing astute Canadians arriving extremely late and experiencing an epiphany regarding the execution of Canadian democracy. Likewise, I see no foundation nor rationale in taking serious anyone declaring surprise at the Emergencies Act being activated by Trudeau and group. This type of overreach has been telegraphed by Trudeau and his Cabal in a variety of ways, for many years.
Justin Trudeau has broken the law numerous times and it’s glaringly obvious that the law is merely an inconvenience for Trudeau. It seems that he broke the law whilst:
1. He was a teacher—no punishment nor negative consequence;
2. he broke the law with the SNC scandal—no punishment nor negative consequence;
3. he violated and was found guilty of breaking ethical guidelines numerous times, with impunity I might add—no punishment nor negative consequence;
4. he attempted to enrich others, some being members of his family, with the We Charity Scandal—no punishment nor negative consequence;
5. he broke the rules of Parliament numerous times—no punishment nor negative consequence;
6. he has never met a lie to which he isn’t intimately familiar—no punishment nor negative consequence;
7. and frighteningly, he is without any substantive credentials to hold the position he does.
Note: there are many more but these seven (7) should suffice for illustration purposes.
Consequently, a ship of State being captained by a rogue pirate is inevitably going to lay to waste any and all perceived, real or otherwise, “inconveniences” that might impeded their piracy and further acquisition of power.
It has been my observation for several decades that our once great Country has been faced with numerous political black swans and the corrosive and destructive nature of such was, and is, glaringly obvious for all “who were prepared and open” to see.
It took a bunch of principled Truckers, not the giants of the Law, academia, media and corporatism, to surface this corrosion of democracy and bring to the forefront the autocratic and dictatorial nature of Canada’s political elites. These Truckers put their livelihoods, assets, reputations, safety, BVEMPs on the line and should be elevated to the heights of heroes in Canada , as they appear, ironically, to be in other countries.
In actuality, these Truckers conducted one of the most peaceful, civilized, legal protest in Canada’s history and they were met with vitriolic and false accusations, by the childlike PM no less, of the predictable charges of racism, hate, abuse, misogyny, being a fringe element, extremists, white nationalists, Nazis, inciting violence, etc.
Let it now be known that when truth becomes the enemy, lies become truth and freedoms become mere platitudes for propaganda purposes, we, Canadians, are at serious risk of becoming the peasants and serfs of the entitled ruling mob.
Ask not what Canada can do for you but what you can do for Canada!!!!
I believe that the discussion with the two Canadian intellectuals which Terry Burton references must be the one below. It’s worth listening to in my opinion, especially in light of Mr. Burton’s comments.
Back in 2014, Daniel Dickin, a contributor to the Huffington Post accurately read the writing on the wall.
