"Balenciaga creative-director is Ambassador for Zelensky's United24 fundraiser" – by Vanessa Beeley
Stylist Lotta Volkova's connection with Balenciaga's Demna Gvasalia
I am reposting the very interesting information which Vanessa Beeley has compiled with regard to Balenciaga creative director, Demna Gvasalia and the United24 fundraiser for Ukraine.
Following Vanessa’s article, I have added another crossover link to the Balenciaga children with teddy bears in bondage ad campaign scandal.
Please note that this post is too long to be read in its entirety by email.
Balenciaga creative-director is Ambassador for Zelensky's United24 fundraiser
The normalisation of Nazis by fashion moguls, astronauts and academics
By Vanessa Beeley • December 8, 2022
The Creative Director of controversial Balenciaga fashion emporium is an Ambassador for United24 a fundraising platform recently established by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
An ad campaign run by the fashion house in November featured children holding teddy bears dressed in bondage costumes. The images taken by photographer Gabriele Galimberti included teddy bear handbags dressed in fishnet stockings and with bondage leather straps. A backlash ensued in which Balenciaga was accused of promoting child pornography and pedophilia.
“In one photo, court documentation can be seen on the desk where the Balenciaga bag is placed from the 2008 case titled United States vs. Williams. The controversial case ruled that the "pandering" of child pornography did not violate the First Amendment even if the person charged with such an offense did already possess said pornography to trade.”
Thousands of social media pundits said the gift campaign was “inappropriate” and normalised child sexualisation. An apology was issued by Demna Gvasalia, the Balenciaga Creative Director now Ambassador for the United24 fundraiser for Nazi militia backed by NATO.
The potential Balenciaga Nazi-links go further back than collaboration with the ultra-nationalist organised crime cartel in Ukraine. Balenciaga was founded in 1919 by renowned Spanish fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga in San Sebastian, Spain. The headquarters are now located in Paris.
During WW2 Balenciaga was able to keep operating during the Vichy-facilitated Nazi occupation while many other fashion houses were forced to shut down and cease trading. It is rumoured that Balenciaga had close ties to Spain’s General Francisco Franco who was one of Hitler’s allies in Europe. Balenciaga has always maintained that he had no connections to Hitler and that he actually refused Hitler’s request to re-locate to Berlin.
Gvasalia is Ambassador for the Rebuild Ukraine section of the fund and has already designed a special Balenciaga T-shirt to raise funds for Zelensky’s campaign. Zelensky has personally thanked Gvasalia - “Thank you for your support, it is very valuable,” said Zelenskyy. “It’s crucial that we keep the world’s focus on Ukraine to help rebuild our country.”
The T-shirt graphics include a “Glory to Ukraine” print, the Ukrainian flag, the Ukrainian coat of arms, and a QR code that allows donating via UNITED24. The garment will retail at a mere 200 euros. Allegedly all proceeds will go to ‘rebuilding Ukraine’.
Ambassador line-up
According to the United24 website:
Astronaut Scott Kelly, who came to Ukraine, saw with his own eyes how the doctors of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital work in the dark. In addition, Kelly visited Bucha and Irpin, met with Ukrainian pilots, and starred in a video supporting Ukrainian doctors. Finally, with Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Usyk, he walked through darkened Kyiv and called on the whole world to join the fundraiser for generators.
Famous Canadian philanthropist, James Temerty, transferred $1,000,000. Liev Schreiber collected $100,000 in just two days. Elina Svitolina dedicated her charity evening to the support of hospitals, during which $57,000 was raised. Oleksandr Usyk personally donated 50,000 dollars for generators.
The assembly of the world's first Fleet of naval drones also gained international support. Its main task is to protect Ukrainian cities from cruise missiles launched by Russian ships. Donors from 93 countries responded to the call. Volunteers, the IT community, owners of family businesses, private donors, corporations, and the people of Lithuania, presented Ukraine with three naval drones given the symbolic names ‘Peace Dec,’ ‘Peace Da,’ and ‘Peace Duke.’ Proceeds from the sale of the last batch of "Azovstal. A Symbol of Perseverance' will also be aimed at forming the Fleet.
Prominent historian and UNITED24 ambassador Timothy Snyder opened a special fundraiser for the 'Shahed Hunter‘. This is an anti-drone system that will help detect and intercept enemy UAVs. So far, Snyder has raised more than $500,000Timothy Snyder is a professor of history at Yale University and author of ‘Bloodlands’ which ironically examined the devastating consequences of Hitler and Stalin’s rule.
💬Anatoly #Antonov: Is it really for the sake of defeating 🇷🇺 on the battlefield that 🇺🇸will stand in line with the fascist thugs from the Azov battalion and defend the Nazi ideology? 🪢 Read in full: facebook.com/RusEmbUSA/post…?In October Russia’s ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, held the prestigious Stanford University to account for hosting an event and inviting members of the Nazi Azov Battalion. The university hosted several representatives of the neo-Nazi paramilitary organisation including two POWs released by Russia in a prisoner swap in October.
Representatives of Azov even spoke in front of the audience at the event Stanford University organized, where Michael McFaul, the former US ambassador to Russia and a vocal critic of Moscow, was also present.
The prestigious academic institutional support for the NATO-backed Nazi infested regime and military in Ukraine is part of the process of demonising the enemy, in this case Russia, and glorifying the ultra-nationalist fanatics and extremist proxies that are serving the US/UK allied cabal agenda. These tactics are best described by Belgian historian Anne Morelli in her ten-point-war-propaganda plan (the basic principles of war propaganda):
We don’t want war, we are only defending ourselves.
Our adversary is solely responsible for this war.
Our adversary’s leader is inherently evil and resembles the devil.
We are defending a noble cause, not our particular interests.
The enemy is purposefully committing atrocities; if we are making mistakes this happens without intention.
The enemy makes use of illegal weapons.
We suffer few losses, the enemy’s losses are considerable.
Recognized intellectuals and artists support our cause.
Our cause is sacred.
Whoever casts doubt on our propaganda helps the enemy and is a traitor.
These principles can be applied to every imperialist venture in recent history from Syria to Libya, Iraq, Yugoslavia etc.
According to the United24 website Zelensky has raised $ 237, 850, 771 in his probable bid to further launder money through private and public sector channels. I would almost guarantee that the buildings marked for reconstruction on the website will still be piles of rubble even after Zelensky has received millions in restoration funding.
A large sector for funding is the building of a fleet of naval drones and the purchase of the Shahed hunters, anti-drone systems to combat the Russian/Iranian drone warfare that has had devastating consequences for Ukrainian essential energy infrastructure and military sites. An interesting veiled threat is included in the promotional blurb for the Shahed hunter package - “Ukraine cannot export electricity to the EU, which supports the stability of the European energy system, unless they can lay their hands on the anti-drone systems.” says Zelensky.
The anti-drone project is Snyder’s baby for which he has already raised $ 500,000. To explain away his military/political involvement in a war that ostensibly the US is not fighting, he has said:
“I’m a historian and a scholar, and in the long run I want to be raising money to rebuild libraries, schools and universities. But right now, we have to do what is more urgent, which is to raise money to help Ukraine defend itself from murderous drones”
I am not sure how ethical it is for an academic to be raising money for a military defence system in a foreign country for a war that the US is allegedly not fighting. Perhaps Yale would like to comment?
As a historian will Snyder acknowledge the 2014 US-led violent regime change in Ukraine and empowerment of neo-Nazi factions, the massacre of anti-Maidan protestors in Odessa and Mariupol, the eight-year war against the people of Donbass, the horrific loss of civilian life, the torture, rape, forced detention, executions, mass graves and continued bombardment of civilian infrastructure, markets and schools in Donetsk. Even yesterday there were civilian casualties during a merciless bombing raid on Donetsk city centre? The answer is probably no.
Please share Vanessa’s original post:
I you haven’t already, I highly recommend reading Liz Crokin’s excellent article, Balenciaga Is Pizzagate which includes information regarding former Balenciaga styist, Lotta Volkova from her now private Instagram account which includes posts “depicting child abuse, gore and sexualised teddy bears.”
The following article provides some information regarding the friendship and working relationship between Lotta Volkova and Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga along with the United24 fundraiser for Ukraine.
Lotta Volkova, Stylist Linked To Balenciaga, Frequently Posted Images Of Child Abuse And Gore, And Is Friends With Alleged Pedophile Gosha Rubchinskiy
BY NICOLE DOMINIQUE • Nov 28th 2022
Lotta Volkova doesn’t only have links to Balenciaga – she's also worked with some of the biggest name brands including Vogue, Adidas, Chanel, and Jean Paul Gaultier. While she claims that she hasn’t worked with Balenciaga in years, Volkova has a close relationship with Balenciaga's creative director and Vetement's founder, Demna Gvasalia. She's also friends with Gosha Rubchinskiy, a Russian streetwear designer, who allegedly pressured a 16-year-old boy to send nudes of himself. The trio seems to be a tight-knit group, and is even credited as the "inventors" of the post-Soviet style fashion.
She says she met Demna Gvasalia through a mutual friend and started working with him "by chance." "One day, he showed me the photos from his collection. I found his clothes super, but not the styling. So, Demna asked me to be involved. We have been working together since 2015. I'm a brand consultant, I take care of collections and fashion shows, from casting to style supervision," Volkova said in an interview.
What Volkova didn’t mention in her past interviews, however, is how her group seems to gravitate toward child pornography. Demna posted about it on his Instagram back in 2016: “Someone wrote that Lotta (Balenciaga stylist), Gosha, and I grew up on child pornography and radiation from Chernobyl, which is why we’re so f*cked up." In addition to Demna’s Instagram posts, Volkova’s pictures on her social media have also emerged, photos that have the same aura as Balenciaga’s controversial ad campaign – but be warned, as these images might be distressing to some readers.
Volkova References The Shining
Volkova shares one image of the elevator scene in the movie The Shining and tags her friend, Gosha. If you don't know much about this Stanley Kubrick film, here's the summary: A little boy named Danny has "the shine" – psychic abilities that he's too young to understand. His family heads to a hotel for the winter, and this hotel tries to take Danny's "shine" away by consuming him. If you know anything about Gosha Rubchinskiy, this fact should raise some red flags.
Gosha often "casted'' young men through Instagram, going as far as to ask minors to send photos of themselves shirtless in their underwear. "Gosha has been doing casting by Instagram for many years now,” Gosha’s representative told GQ. “It is a normal practice nowadays. We always ask to [sic] face photos, in full length and topless. Sometimes photos in underwear are required in order to understand the volume of hips.”
Interestingly, Gucci – who owns Balenciaga – launched a campaign titled "Kubrick" and used The Shining as inspiration for their photoshoots as well.
Volkova Often Posted Photos with Young Men of Unknown Ages
Perhaps Volkova is friends with Gosha because they share the same affinity for young men. Volkova seemed to love posing with young men – who appear to be minors – in pictures.
She Loved Posting Photos of Child Abuse and Teddy Bears
According to these screenshots by one anonymous investigator (@curioslight), Volkova shared an image of a room full of blood, a child with their innards exposed, and a little girl taped to a chair. Some of her other images of children were eerie as well, often depicting children in pain and/or in fear. Others are worse: Some of her photos depict babies being eaten.
Just like Balenciaga's Gift Shop campaign, the stylist posted images of herself with teddy bears, even sexualizing them. Users believe it alludes to the "pedo bear," a cartoon bear that's associated with pedophiles. Gosha commented on one of these posts with a wink. Volkova also posted an image of Moloch, a Canaanite deity associated with child sacrifices.
Volkova Appeared To Be into Bondage and Rabbits
Before Volkova made her Instagram private, her page included images of people in bondage gear and rabbits – both of which were found in Balenciaga’s campaigns. Some users believe the white rabbit is the symbol of adrenochrome's chemical structure, a chemical compound created by the oxidation of adrenaline.
She Glamorized Cannibalism and Satanic Imagery
In one photo, Volkova is seen wearing a band shirt of “Cannibal Corpse” at a church. In another painting she shares, there’s a monstrous bear in the process of consuming a girl. A third image features a creepy, dark, moldy room with a goat head on an upside-down pentagram.
She Posted Pictures of Sex Rooms
Volkova posted photos of private rooms that users believe were used for sex. "Below are bath houses she would take young boys and have orgies, this boy(left pic) looks like she has brought him with her to the U.S.," one user speculates. "The 2nd picture is why is the hashtag sorryputin, why and sorry for what ? Taking the youth from Russia or doing something bad to the youth ?"
Volkova and Demna Break Their Silence
Balenciaga issued a statement on social media following the controversy. “We apologize for displaying unsettling documents in our campaign,” Balenciaga wrote on Instagram. “We take this matter very seriously and are taking legal action against the parties responsible for creating the set and including unapproved items for our Spring 23 campaign photoshoot.” They added, “We strongly condemn the abuse of children in any form. We stand for children's safety and well-being.”
While these findings are alarming, Volkova states that she hasn’t been involved with Balenciaga since 2017. As reported by Newsweek, one spokesperson for Volkova said she “has not worked with Balenciaga or its team since 2017, and she has in no way participated in the brand's recent Instagram or advertising campaigns.” They added that Volkova “condemns the abuse of children in any form.”
Demna has also addressed the controversies, writing, “We sincerely apologize for any offense our Holiday Campaign may have caused. Our plush [BDSM] bear bags should not have been featured with children in this campaign. We have immediately removed the campaign from all platforms.” Still, the stylist and Demna have yet to address the odd similarities between Balenciaga's recent campaigns and Volkova's taste in "art."
With all of these disturbing images resurfacing, it makes sense why people believe that Volkova and Demna are to blame for Balenciaga's unsettling advertisements. Surprisingly, Balenciaga has decided to file a lawsuit against the production company that's apparently responsible for the ad campaign. The luxury brand is currently suing North Six Inc. and set designer Nicholas Des Jardins for $25 million dollars. North Six has declined to comment on the suit, but one source has said that the company denies involvement with the production of Balenciaga's Gift Shop campaign.
I am including the following excerpt from the September 14, 2020 article, From post-soviet style to Kanye West: the rise of Lotta Volkova which also references her friends Demna Gvasalia and alleged paedophile Gosha Rubchinskiy.
A mutual friend introduced her to Demna Gvasalia
Photo: Clothes Encounter From left: Vetements designer Demna Gvasalia, with stylist Lotta Volkova and DJ Clara 3000, at a friend’s apartment in Paris. Volkova wears Vetements parka. DJ Clara 3000 wears Vetements jacket. [March 2016]
Lotta's life is marked by lucky and random encounters, a demonstration of how important it is sometimes to be in the right place at the right time. In London, during her club nights (she hosted a night called Kashpoint herself) she met Gareth Pugh, became friends with Gosha Rubchinskiy and was photographed by Wolfgang Tillmans. Nicola Formichetti, who at the time worked as a designer and buyer for Pineal Eye boutiques in London, and Side by Side in Japan, was one of the first to support his Skeletrix brand. In Paris, Ellen Von Unwerth, intrigued by her look, began her career as a stylist, while it was a mutual friend, Thom Murphy, who introduced her to her future husband, creative consultant Alban Adam. In the same way, she met Demna Gvasalia and, as always "by chance", she began to collaborate with him. Her words:
One day, he showed me the photos from his collection. I found his clothes super, but not the styling. So, Demna asked me to be involved. We have been working together since 2015. I'm a brand consultant, I take care of collections and fashion shows, from casting to style supervision.
So for Lotta the road to exceptional success was opened. Now famous, Volkova continues to work mainly with friends such as Sander Lak for Sies Marjan, Johnny Coca for Mulberry or photographer Harley Weir. Even in street style shots, it's almost impossible to find her on her own. Lotta is always surrounded by a crew of models and creatives like Paul Hameline, Jamie Bochert, Walter Pearce and Adrian Hurtado.
[…]
Gosha Rubchinskiy, Demna Gvasalia and Lotta Volkova. These three are the "inventors" of the post-Soviet style. Three thirty-year-olds with shared roots, talent and a precise aesthetic vision.
We are of the same generation and we understand each other. And then, yes, we have essential references in common. Russia, the fall of communism, the Orthodox Church, the 'nineties. Then each one reworks them in his own way.
Whilst we are on the subject of Lotta Volkova, please note that according to AP, the creepy photo which curioslight and others had indicated is of Volkova is apparently not.
This is an excerpt from the AP fact check article, Former Balenciaga stylist not pictured in devil-like outfit is said to be:
“This is the Chief Designer for Balenciaga, Lotta Volkova,” one tweet alleged along with the image. “Enough said. They knew exactly what they were doing.” It had received more than 19,000 likes and more than 6,000 shares as of Wednesday.
Another tweet making a similar claim received more than 66,000 likes and more than 31,000 shares.
But Julia Hackel, Volkova’s agent, told the AP that the woman in the photo is not Volkova.
“We can confirm that Lotta Volkova is not the person pictured in the mentioned image widely circulated on Twitter,” she wrote in an email.
Volkova is also not a top designer at Balenciaga. She has previously worked with the brand, but as a stylist — not a designer — according to Hackel, who added that Volkova has not worked with Balenciaga since 2018. A Balenciaga spokesperson further confirmed to the AP that Volkova has not worked with the brand since that year.
The original photo was taken by a Getty Images photographer in 2016. A caption for the image states that it shows a model during China Fashion Week in Beijing walking the runway for Sheguang, the Chinese fashion designer — not Balenciaga. Other similar images from Sheguang’s show appear on his Instagram account.
Balenciaga is being criticized for two separate ad campaigns. One, for its 2022 gift shop collection, featured children holding teddy bear-shaped bags dressed in what appeared to be bondage gear. The other, for its 2023 spring collection, included a photo featuring a partially-obscured document from United States v. Williams, a 2008 Supreme Court ruling that confirmed child pornography is not protected by the First Amendment.
Volkova was falsely accused of being involved in the campaigns after social media users shared screenshots of posts from her Instagram account showing imagery with violent and satanic themes. The account is currently set to private.
Hackel said that Volkova “in no way participated” in Balenciaga’s recent advertising campaigns.
“We would like to address the controversies surrounding our recent ad campaigns,” Balenciaga wrote in a statement posted to Instagram in response to the criticism. “We strongly condemn child abuse; it was never our intent to include it in our narrative. The two separate ad campaigns in question reflect a series of grievous errors for which Balenciaga takes responsibility.”
The brand called the gift shop campaign “a wrong choice by Balenciaga, combined with our failure in assessing and validating images.” In the case of the spring collection campaign, Balenciaga said that “all the items included in this shooting were provided by third parties that confirmed in writing that these props were fake documents.”
Although the curioslight Twitter account has been removed, the search results indicate that they had corrected their original tweet which erroneously indicated that the red devil lady was Volkova.
Given that Balenciaga Creative Director, Demna Gvasalia is friends with Lotta Volkova and is now directly linked with Zelensky’s corruption ridden Ukraine – which has been a known hub for child trafficking for years–It would be really good if we direct our attention to looking at the situation from this angle even more closely now.
This is especially so when Volkova’s husband, Alban Adam’s Instagram is similar to her own. In fact, Volkova also had the image I used for the video below on her Instagram as per the ones curioslight had tweeted which are archived.
Please watch the video with some of Alban Adam’s collection of images from his Instagram account by clicking below. He and his wife certainly appear to be birds of a very dark feather.
